Tasting note: Here the more reserved nose is compositionally similar to the Aux Echezeaux but it's spicier. The succulent and fleshy medium-bodied flavors possess good mid-palate richness which contrasts markedly with the firm, serious and robust finale that displays a touch of rusticity. This recommended effort is also very good and very Gevrey.

Tasting note: This is earthier still with its well-layered nose of cassis, humus and sauvage hints. There is excellent detail to the more obviously mineral-driven flavors that are a lovely combination of power and punch, all wrapped in a wonderfully refreshing, firm and well-balanced finale. Worth considering.

Tasting note: A more deeply pitched nose offers up notes of plum, dark currant, earth and soft spice nuances. There is more volume to the rich and velvet-textured medium weight flavors that possess slightly more depth on the lingering finish. This isn't as refined but I like the complexity.

Tasting note: As is often the case chez Fourrier this is almost as aromatically elegant with a compositionally similar nose though this displays more event floral nuances at present. Here too there is first-rate detail and punch to the racy and wonderfully refined flavors that culminate in a dusty and ever-so-mildly austere finale. A Vougeot of grace and finesse but don't underestimate its ability to repay extended keeping.

Tasting note: This is more deeply pitched still with its notes of plum, leather, black cherry, newly turned earth and smoked meat hints. The succulent, rich and seductive broad-shouldered flavors manage to at once be juicy yet serious as the firm tannic spine that emerges on the gorgeously long finish makes very clear. Excellent.

Tasting note: This also exhibits plenty of earth and sauvage elements yet the fruit profile is slightly higher-toned and a bit more elegant as well. There is a driving minerality and underlying tension to the succulent yet refined middle weight flavors that brim with dry extract on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This classy effort is at once built-to-age but not backward and should be accessible after only a few years.

Tasting note: This is just as elegant and even more complex with a lovely range of spice elements that add interest to the softly earth-inflected aromas of red and dark cherry, rose petal and oak hints. The palate impression of the middle weight plus flavors is also succulent and seductive while delivering superb length on the firm but once again not austere finale. This too should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years yet the density and balance are so good that it should easily repay long-term cellaring.
